Dinner

So, today at the Hy-Vee, there was a sale.  Buy 1 ham, get a turkey for free.  I have never cooked ham, but today is the day!  I am using a beer glaze recipe.  I will update you with the results!

Big D volunteered to make the turkey on Saturday whilst I work.  We'll see about that.

The Costumes

Me and Big D

I think we look pretty cute.  Well, except for the fact that Baby  M is making my face and neck start to look so huge. . . I can't complain, though.
Today's agenda: making a coupon holder, going to my fave consignment shop, gym, grocery shopping and cleaning.  All before the kiddies come  begging for candy.  Better get to it.

Almost Ready. . .

For Halloween!

Our Happy Punkins

This year I decided to make costumes.  I used this awesome tutorial from Twin Dragonfly Designs to make some Angry Birds costumes for me and Big D.

Green Moustachioed Pig for Big D

&

Yellow Angry Bird for Moi

Thanks to the super amazing Heather at Twin Dragon Designs.  These costumes are so kickass.

We can't paint the walls in our apartment, but I am currently on the hunt for affordable yellow and grey fabric to make crib bedding with.

Great Target Deals

While at Target, I did one of my favorite Target activities. . .

Shopped the 70% off clothing rack.

I have decided to begin stocking up on maternity clothes.

Check out this haul.

The shirt on the left is a Liz Lange maternity T with side rouching.  It is actually more of a mustard color, my camera didn't pick that up very well.  It was purchased for the bargain price of

$3.74!!!

The shirt on the right is actually a 1 from the big ladies section.  It is a big T with a rope pattern printed on the front.  There are some hidden sequins on the top that also were not picked up by my camera.  I plan to refashion it to a maternity T by taking in the sleeves and adding rouching to the sides.  I got this one for the bargain price of

$4.24!!

Needless to say, I won't need these for a while, but I figure it is always best to stock up early to get good deals.

I love my Husband

So, I spent all morning looking for a prenatal yoga class in our area that I could start taking.. . The verdict. . . They are all about $75 for 6 classes.  Too rich for my blood.

Then, out of the blue, I get this email from my loving husband.

Prenatal Yoga Class
Prenatal Yoga

Join Angela on Wednesdays, beginning September 7 through December 7, from 11:00-11:45am.

Prenatal Yoga is a class designed to address safe, effective stretches and exercises that can be modified for each trimester so you feel comfortable, relaxed and fit during pregnancy.  Yoga will help to increase your energy and stamina, build strength, flexibility and balance. Emphasis will be placed on proper technique in standing and floor work exercises using a yoga mat, strap and a block helping to modify and/or deepen the pose. Deep breathing and meditation will also be reviewed, to help improve focus, concentration, and ease labor and delivery.

This class is open to everyone, but designed for pregnant and postnatal women. Class is free for Rec Center members. Eligible non-members may participate for $6 plus tax/class, or $49 plus tax for the entire session. Sign-up is now available!  Make sure to stop by the front desk or call ******** to reserve your spot.

Do you think you'd want to do this?

Have a great day!

-D

This is through the rec center at his work. I don't get the free price, because I am not a member, but $49 for 3 months is AMAZING.  I tell ya, he's the greatest!!!

Week 4!

Here's the belly at 4 weeks.  Clearly, this is not the baby, just a leftover beer belly.  Time to get healthy for two.

4 Weeks!

It's official!  We are 4 weeks pregnant!!  I am so nervous and excited.  We have been trying for 4 months and I was beginning to think that it would never happen. . . I have been trying not to get too excited about conceiving just in case there were any problems.
I am excited to find out all the things I need to do to keep this baby healthy.  I had started p90X 3 weeks ago in anticipation of my bestie's wedding.  Naturally, I immediately googled "can I do p90X while pregnant" and received a resounding NO.  So, I think it's back to the gym.  I am currently looking for a walking/jogging routine suitable for the first trimester.

I have decided not to share my news with friends and family until 12 weeks because I want to make sure I don't miscarry.
